O.S.J. Malta realized that without diplomatic relations, the Order can’t fulfill their humanitarian mission in the most effective way, for this reason the knights began their Diplomatic campaign, like SMOM, started in the 19 century. The Order is and will remain in perpetuity (GOD so willing) independent of any and all kingdoms, governments and other worldly authorities; its recognized sovereignty, independence, extra-territorial status and fons honorum having been honored and substantiated by numerous Treaties, Acts, Bulls, Edicts and Ukases (like the Treaties of Amiens on 1802) by the continuing exercise of its ancient rights, privileges and prerogatives.
The Order looks forward to have diplomatic relations in all continents where help is needed:
The Order was given Observer status in the Assembly of the United Nations in New York on 3 February 1961. The Order of Malta has official relations with: • Malta |
